The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (CRPC) reminds consumers who purchased tickets for the cancelled Pitbull concert, which was scheduled to take place on 29 July 2026 at the Mežaparks Great Bandstand in Riga, that they are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price.
Under the Consumer Rights Protection Law, consumers have the right to receive a refund for the value of their ticket if an event is cancelled.
The refund must be issued no later than 14 days from the date the event was cancelled.
The CRPC encourages consumers to follow the official information provided by the concert organiser and the ticketing service provider, and to retain all documents and proof of payment related to their ticket purchase.
If the refund is not provided within the prescribed time limit or if any other issues arise, consumers are first encouraged to contact the event organiser in writing in order to resolve the matter out of court.
The CRPC will closely monitor the situation to ensure that consumers' rights are respected. Consumers are encouraged to follow the CRPC's public communications for the latest updates.
CRPC Director Zaiga Liepiņa stated:
"The cancellation of the event has caused inconvenience and disappointment for thousands of people. However, consumers' rights in such situations are clearly protected by law. Consumers are entitled to receive a full refund of the amount paid for their tickets. We encourage everyone to carefully follow the information provided by the organiser and, if necessary, make use of the legal remedies available to protect their rights."
