The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (CRPC) participates in international cooperation frameworks and expert working groups that promote the exchange of experience, the development of joint policy recommendations, and coordinated enforcement activities.

The CRPC is a member of the following organisations:

  • International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) – the CRPC is a member since 2002. ICPEN brings together consumer protection authorities from various countries. Within ICPEN, the CRPC participates in international online enforcement actions ("sweeps") aimed at identifying misleading or fraudulent information and practices online, as well as in workshops to adopt best practices from other consumer protection authorities.
  • Consumers International – a global federation of consumer organisations that promotes consumer protection, sustainable consumption and fair market practices worldwide. The CRPC participates in its annual consumer awareness campaigns.

The CRPC participates in the following international formats:

  • Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
    • Committee on Consumer Policy (CCP) and the Working Party on Consumer Product Safety (WPCPS) – the Committee regularly analyses developments in consumer markets and develops policy recommendations in the field of consumer protection, while the Working Party focuses on product safety and market surveillance issues. It enables the exchange of information among member states on unsafe products and surveillance methods and strengthens cooperation between regulators to more effectively mitigate risks to consumers and improve market surveillance practices.
    • Working Group on Financial Consumer Protection, Financial Education and Inclusion – this working group analyses risks and trends in financial markets and develops guidelines and recommendations to strengthen consumer protection. Based on this work, the CRPC implements activities to promote financial literacy while supporting the availability of accessible, safe and responsible financial services for all groups of society.
  • UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection and Competition – participation in this group enables the CRPC to follow international policy developments, adopt best practices and strengthen the national regulatory framework in the field of consumer protection.
  • PROSAFE (Product Safety Forum of Europe) – a European network of market surveillance authorities that enables the implementation of joint projects in the field of consumer product safety, promotes the harmonisation of surveillance practices and strengthens cooperation between authorities.
  • Working groups of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) – ICPHSO is an expert cooperation platform addressing current risks related to consumer products, including the impact of new technologies, e-commerce and global supply chains on product safety. The platform promotes the exchange of information and experience among regulators, businesses and experts, and develops practical solutions and recommendations for improving safety standards, preventing risks and enhancing market surveillance.

In addition, the CRPC participates in international projects and initiatives related to consumer protection, digital market surveillance and product safety.
